What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of therapeutic techniques or principles in conjunction with meditation or hypnosis to help you to better manage your behavior, emotions, and physical well-being. The use of hypnotherapy helps people to develop personal insights and self-awareness in order to bring about meaningful and profound personal change. Hypnotherapy and stage hypnosis are not the same thing. Stage hypnosis is done purely for entertainment value where audience members volunteer to go on stage to have fun.
In a professional hypnotherapy setting clients are voluntarily going into a heightened but completely aware and focused state of mind to concentrate on resolving the issue that they came in to resolve. Clients remain in a light to medium relaxed, natural state where they can hear and respond to the hypnotherapist. It is the same alpha brain wave state that you get in when you get lost in a day dream, in a good book, or in your imagination and tune out all the people in the room.
In the relaxed state you are bypassing the critical nature of your conscious mind to tap into your subconscious memories, beliefs, and emotions. It is in this state where you gain your best insights and can change self-limiting beliefs as well as remove emotional blockages that prevent you from finding peace, joy, and happiness.

A typical session consists of the client intake where we discuss and identify your primary issue. We explore your underlying emotions and beliefs regarding your issue, and identify your goal for how you would like the issue to be different. Then, we go through protocols to determine which therapeutic modality will best help you to meet your goal. Sessions typically consist of a guided meditation to your favorite place to relax and last an hour and a half to two hours.

Hypnotherapy is a very powerful modality for initiating insights to your behavior, removing emotional blocks, and increasing motivation for change. The client though, still has to have the discipline to follow through and make the desired changes. Many issues take anywhere from 4 to 8 sessions to facilitate lasting positive change.​ With over 500 hours of advanced hypnotherapy training and certification from the Institute of Interpersonal Hypnotherapy, our therapists are well trained to handle the issues listed below and many more not listed.
